Day Selected as New Assistant Superintendent

On Monday, April 15, the School Board unanimously approved KayLynn Day as the new Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Student Services, effective May 13.  Day replaces Robin Bullock, who was appointed Assistant Superintendent in Allen ISD.

Day brings 29 years of educational experience to her new position, all earned in Desoto ISD, Region X and most recently in Maypearl ISD. She began her teaching career in Duncanville ISD and has since held positions as an elementary and secondary principal, CTE program manager, director of curriculum and instruction, executive director of human resources, instructional technology and recruitment consultant.

“I applied for the position on a leap of faith and was so excited when I received the call from Dr. Stewart,” said Day.

“Midlothian has a reputation of quality and commitment to student success.  I witnessed that commitment and love for the students when I visited with the staff. After meeting with the different departments, I am even more anxious to start.  I am thrilled about the opportunity to be part of the MISD team.”

Day earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Dallas Baptist University.
