Midlothian Independent School District will accept referrals for the
Gifted and Talented Program, for students currently enrolled in Grades
1-11. Referrals will be accepted from April 8-19. Parents, community
members, counselors, and teachers, as well as students themselves may
refer potential gifted candidates.
The purpose of the identification process is to locate those
students who demonstrate unusually advanced aptitude and commitment to
learning. These are the students who will most likely benefit from an
academic program that is expanded and enriched.
Referral forms may be obtained from the school counselors and
written parental/guardian consent shall be obtained before individual
assessment is conducted as part of the screening and identification
process.
